Kucinich
Starts New Impeachment Drive
Representative
Dennis J. Kucinich of Ohio may get excluded from Democratic presidential
debates, as he has been recently, but no one can deny him the floor in the
House.
And
today (January 23) Mr. Kucinich took to the floor to fire off his latest
salvo at the Bush administration: his plans to introduce Articles of
Impeachment against President Bush on Jan. 28 — the day of Mr. Bush’s State
of the Union speech.
Accusing
the administration of lying about the need for the war in Iraq, Mr. Kucinich
said he did not need to hear the president’s assessment. “We know the State
of the Union,” he declared. “It’s a lie.”
He
also fired a volley at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California who has
maintained that impeaching Mr. Bush is not on the table for Congressional
Democrats. “If impeachment is off the table,” Mr. Kucinich said, “truth is
off the table. If truth is off the table then this body is living a
lie.” Full

There are those who still think they are holding the pass
against a revolution that may be coming up the road. But they are gazing in
the wrong direction. The revolution is behind them. It went by in the Night
of Depression, singing songs to freedom.
There
are those who have never ceased to say very earnestly, "Something is
going to happen to the American form of government if we don't watch
out." These were the innocent disarmers. Their trust was in words. They
had forgotten their Aristotle. More than 2,000 years ago he wrote of what can
happen within the form, when "one thing takes the place of another, so
that the ancient laws will remain, while the power will be in the hands of
those who have brought about revolution in the state." Full article=>

Feds Accused of
Gold-Price Manipulation
The Wall Street Journal
has agreed to publish a full-page ad in which the Gold Anti-Trust
Action Committee charges the U.S. government surreptitiously utilizes
gold reserves to engage in international swaps and other market
manipulations. "Anybody Seen Our
Gold?" is the title of the ad, which alleges U.S. gold reserves held at
depositories such as Fort Knox and West Point may have been seriously
depleted. GATA asserts U.S. gold reserves are being shipped overseas to
settle complex transactions utilized by the Federal
Reserve and the U.S. Treasury
to suppress the price of the precious metal. Full article=>

McCain
Claims Victory in the Louisiana Republican Caucuses
John McCain appears to have won the Louisiana GOP
caucuses, which were held Tuesday to select delegates to the state
convention.
Louisiana’s
primary is Feb. 9, but more than 10,000 Republican voters in the state
attended the caucuses Tuesday to select delegates to the state convention,
which is held to elect nearly all the state’s delegates to the national
convention, being held this year in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
Preliminary
results showed McCain won more of the 105 state convention delegates than any
other candidate — most of the elected delegates actually ran on a statewide
“pro-life uncommitted slate,” according to the state GOP, but McCain claimed
the most delegates for a named candidate.
The Louisiana GOP
did not release final numbers, but reported that Texas Rep. Ron Paul came in
second and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in third.

Message From Ron
Paul
What a shot in the arm the Nevada caucuses were, where we took
the silver as #2, beating McCain, Huckabee, Thompson, and -- of course --
Giuliani. We also got four more delegates. In South Carolina, we beat Rudy
again. A big thank you to all our wonderful donors, volunteers, and voters.
So many people worked so hard to spread our message of liberty, honest money,
peace, and free-market prosperity. I owe you all my deepest gratitude. So do
our fellow citizens. So do all future Americans. Most of the mainstream media
continue to pretend that we do not exist. Yet soon the race will be down to
four candidates-Romney, McCain, Huckabee, and me, and there is no stopping
us, as Tim Russert grudgingly pointed out the other night. Thanks to you, we
are in this all the way through a brokered convention. MORE=>
