Calling In Search of the 1990 PBS Video on the Towers The video was produced by PBS during the period 1987-1990 and
was shown as a PBS 2-Hour Special telecast in 1990. Why is a copy of it
needed now? This video, which was viewed by Chris Brown in 1990, provides
the documentation needed to prove that (1) the preliminary design of the Twin
Towers called for a core region consisting of massive steel box columns
approximately 1,100 long, (2) this design was rejected by Manoru Yamaski, the
architect of record on this project, because of its inadequate stiffness, and
(3) it was replace in the final design by a rigid core consisting of poured
concrete and steel reinforcing bars, the concrete suitably channeled, of
course to proved room for hallways, storage areas and elevator guide
rails. All 9/11 researchers aside from Chris Brown have based their
work on the incorrect tower core design, that is the all steel box column
model, a weaker, less rigid structure. This apparent error could call into
question or invalidate some or all of the results and conclusions of their
studies. VHS tapes of the PBS video documentary were produced and sold to
the public by PBS until 1993. It is
currently out of production and is apparently not for sale at any of the
wholesale or retail outlets. However,
some people may have personal copies in their possession now. Persons who may
have recorded the telecast special on VHS tape in 1990 or purchased video
tape from PBS or reseller in the past are urged to email Ron at ron@libertycalling.com or Chris at argus1@earthlink.net if they would be
willing to allow Chris to use copies of their originals in his research. |
