approved new rules Tuesday that would for the first time give the federal
government formal authority to regulate Internet traffic, although how much
or for how long remained unclear. A divided Federal Communications Commission
approved a proposal by Chairman Julius Genachowski to give the FCC power to

than the year before. Not that the cost of living has gone down
either. Have you been to the supermarket lately? Things are
getting ridiculous out there. In fact, middle class American
families are being squeezed as never before. More mothers and
fathers are scrambling to find second and third jobs just to pay the mortgage
and to keep the lights on and to put food on the table. This is not a
time of prosperity in America. We are in a state of serious decline and

Dept: Assassinations Up to President, Not Courts, to Decide

Obama Administration is fighting tooth and nail to kill a lawsuit filed by
the ACLU on behalf of New Mexico cleric Anwar Awlaki, arguing that even
though Awlaki isn’t charged with any crimes it “strains credulity” to argue
that the US government needs to present evidence before assassinating the US
citizen. LC Editor’s Comment: If the Justice Department successfully
defends itself before this court and has the lawsuit put down by it, appeals
by the ACLU to higher courts, ultimately the U.S. Supreme Court, are likely
to follow. If
the highest court in the land either refuses to hear the case or finds in
favor of the Justice Department, the Obama administration will have
successfully put those American people upset with the goings on of his
administration and being vocal about it on formal notice to sit down and shut
up! That
is, henceforth they’ll know that any one of them might be cut down by a
government assassin’s bullet if that person chooses to buck the system,
pushes too hard to rid Washington of too many crooked politicians, or –
Heaven forbid – locks onto some really credible birth certificate
documentation that ends up sticking like a honey smear on a freshly pressed
$2,000 suit. The
doomed person would not need be arrested, formally charged with committing
any crime, nor indicted, nor brought to trial, nor convicted and nor sentence
beforehand. In fact the President
would be operating on firm legal grounds if chose to circumvent the due
process requirements of the Bill of Rights entirely, instead choosing to
simply make the right phone call to get some prompt action. That
assassination might very well be might be carried out in an environment of
total secrecy, unknown to the public and unknown to even key members of
Congress. However, suppose some eager
investigative reporter did discover a killing had occurred, did his research,
and then published his blockbuster story in a major paper or go it shown on
TV? In that case, the White House
would certainly end up pulling off an epic event to whitewash that story,
thereby placating the fears of Joe Six Pack and Suzy Soccer Mom and having
them turn quickly to the sports and home furnishings pages to gain instant
relief from painful reality. But
would that news story every gain any real traction in the legal community?
That is, would the relatives of the whacked person ever see justice done? No,
that’s unlikely simply because by operating under the authority of recent State Secrecy Ruling
rendered earlier this month by the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals,
the White House could legally block full public inquiry into such an
assassination. It
could do this by simply refusing to release records relevant to the murder,
asserting that doing so would endanger the security of the United
States. The White House wouldn’t
want to put the American people’s lives in danger, would it? Be
aware that the new secrecy ruling applies to all happenings past and present
that the White House claims are related to national security, not just
assassinations ordered by the President.
So it’s virtually certain that the Obama White House will end up using
the authority given to it through secrecy ruling to hide other heinous
government misdeeds and criminal activities. For
example, it will almost certainly use it to thwart and then block legal moves
by any and all 911-truth organizations to have 9/11 Commission reconvene and
initiate a new – this time, proper – investigation of the events of 911. My,
oh my! Shades of Hitler’s Nazi Germany, Chairman Mao’s China and Stalin’s
Soviet Union – that’s what’s been discussed here! Folks, get used to living in the U.S. under a de facto
totalitarian dictatorship – one that has been in place and growing in
strength for a far longer period of time than Barack Obama has been in office
--- or do something about it now. Hint:
Electing Republicans in a straight ticket vote to replace Democrats is not
the solution. Some of the most
draconian, freedom and liberty killing, Constitution eviscerating and Bill of
Rights smashing acts and laws ever to become Public (Federal) Law came into

a 6 to 5 vote by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. The Obama administration urged a federal judge
early Saturday to dismiss a lawsuit over its targeting of a U.S. citizen for
killing overseas, saying that the case would reveal state secrets. The U.S.-born citizen, Anwar
al-Aulaqi, is a cleric now believed to be in Yemen. Federal authorities
allege that he is leading a branch of al-Qaeda there. Government lawyers called the
state-secrets argument a last resort to toss out the case, and it seems
likely to revive a debate over the reach of a president's powers in the
global war

A United States President seeks to invoke the State Secrets at to
protect a former U.S. President from might have lead to federal indictment of

could it be that American people as well as President Obama are suffering

away with doing it? But before my readers answer those
questions they need to ask themselves this vital question: Could a natural
born American citizen who had become President of the United State allow
himself to order the assassination of another American citizen, given that
this American had never been indicted for a capital crime, nor tried for such

own assassination program was unveiled in late July as part of a massive leak
of classified documents by WikiLeaks. The WikiLeaks docs revealed the
Pentagon’s version had killed a number of civilians in the course of its
Afghan misadventures, the CIA’s are still a mystery, however. The
fact that the CIA has been assembling a “secret Army” in Afghanistan has
never been a particularly closely guarded secret. The fact that they are
assassinating people in Afghanistan is no secret either. What is a secret,
however, is just how big this group is.
Or at least it was a secret, until Bob
Woodward’s book Obama’s Wars detailed it. According to Woodward the CIA’s
army has some 3,000
well-trained assassins carrying out attacks not only across Afghanistan but
into neighboring Pakistan as well.

Comment: A shock and awe demonstration often
produces the desired result when mere talk fails. Many years ago when I was working as a civilian research
scientist at a U.S. Army research facility, I used my own version of shock
and awe to move our lab facilities director into taking immediate action to
correct a serious dust and debris condition that made it impossible for me to
conduct meaningful work on a ruby laser rod materials research project. Six months prior he had
assign me space in a laboratory located next door to a concrete research,
brick manufacturing and foundry facility and immediately downwind from
it. When that facility was in
operation –Monday through Friday of every week -- it would spew out concrete
and brick dust and ingot casting sand from its open windows and exhaust
vents. That material ended coating my optics research equipment with thin
layers of grit and dust every day making it impossible to use until it
cleaned meticulously immediately before use.
Even though I had informed
him of this situation a dozen times before, the facilities director refused
to move my equipment into a clean laboratory space, claiming lack of
available space meeting this requirement.
So I decided to take swift action. My solution was to gather a days
worth of grit and dust, put it into a paper bag, meet him in his office one
day, and then dump the contents of the bag onto his desktop. As a result of my
demonstration of need, within twenty-four hours, the director had found free
laboratory space, this one air conditioned, located far from the foundry, and
sealed to prevent the entrance of grit and dust from the outside. Within
another twenty-four hours, he had all of my lab equipment moved into that
space. Instead of making more
noise, I made grit and dust! That worked too. Three cheers for shock and awe

disciples have inherited a superiority complex as well as a persecution
complex. They are convinced that they
are the superior few who know the truth and are entitled to rule. But they
are afraid to speak the truth openly lest they be persecuted by the vulgar
many who do not wish to be ruled by them.
This explains why they are eagar to misrepresent Strauss’s
thought. They are afraid to reveal
that Strauss was a critic of liberalism and democracy, lest he be regarded as
an enemy of America. So, the wrap him
in an American flag and pretend that he is a champion of lliberal democracy
for political reasons – their own quest for power. The result is they run roughshod over truth as well as

hasn’t worked. The loans and special deals have only covered up the crimes
these corporations were involved in and allowed them to escape bankruptcy,
which they so richly deserve. There is no other way to describe what has
transpired in the financial community than welfare for the mega rich. What is
worse is that they go right on looting the public as if nothing has happened. The American public is alarmed at what they see going on. Most of them do not understand what has been done to them. The
propaganda fed to them daily has them completely confused and that is
understandable. They know the financial sector has been bailed out and they
somehow have to pay the bill. They have been deceived and few of them want to
admit it. They have been told their economy is in recovery, but improvement
is nowhere to be found. Government tells them inflation is 1.6% when they
know it’s certainly higher than that and has been for some time. The only beacon of light, if they can discover it, is the truth
of talk radio and the Internet. Through these methods of communication the

to CFR: ‘New American Moment’ Has Arrived

power have varied wildly, including demands that Iran prove it isn’t making
nuclear weapons, proclamations that Iran could never prove that it isn’t
making nuclear weapons, and threats
to launch an attack on them. She has also openly said that the diplomacy
toward Iran was never meant to work, but was aimed at convincing the world to
accept more sanctions against them. Speaking
today before the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton issued a dramatic proclamation that a “new American moment”
has arrived and that the State Department will be asserting America’s “global
leadership” in a number of new ways.

once thriving economy, a prosperous nation (the U.S.), by (1) fostering
transfer of virtually all America’s once renown manufacturing capability to
Third World nations, where labor is dirt cheap, by providing tax incentives
to U.S. based corporations, (2) initiating and continuing the fighting of
illegal, enormously expensive ($12 billion/month) wars against the people of
Iraq and Afghanistan, and (3) allowing Wall Street an the Federal Reserve to
run and weaken the American economy by design and then conning the American
people into bailing out Wall Street companies and the banks when they
threatened to go bust? Global
leadership? On violating
international law by condoning and fostering torture of persons the White
House has chosen to call “unlawful combatants” for the purposed of
circumventing this law, which states that torture is illegal, a criminal
activity?” Global
leadership? In showing how a first
rate military power – the U.S. – can successfully, illegally invade two
countries that have third rate ground fighting capacities, no air force and
no navy, kill over a million civilians, lay waste to the land and vital
infrastructure, including power, water and sanitation, claiming falsely that
these countries are aggressor nations and had to be stopped or they would have
attacked the U.S. homeland? Global
leadership? In transforming the once
“Land of the free and home of the Brave”, virtually locked down police state,
in which citizens are under surveillance 24/7, the intimate features of air
travelers bodies are subject to visual examination using X-ray technology
before they are allowed to board their flights, and adults, children and
babies are electrically shocked by police using Tasers --- as if they were
cattle --- to force them to comply with the cops’ demands, no matter
unreasonable? Global
leadership? In successfully withholding information and lying to the people
and members of Congress time and time again about nearly everything,
including the state of the economy, the level of unemployment, and the deployment
of U.S. forces in Afghanistan and Iraq and now Pakistan? Global
leadership, of course! The U.S. can
now claim global leadership! My fellow Americans: Aren’t you proud of and
